Error initiating serposcope on Ubuntu VPS - systemctl

I have a VPS and wanted to use Serposcope installed on my Ubuntu 16.04 VPS

I have followed the instructions and my Java version is:

openjdk version "1.8.0_121"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_121-8u121-b13-0ubuntu1.16.04.2-b13)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.121-b13, mixed mode)

After I have installed Serposcope, 2.7.1 and when the system tries to initialize the package, I get this error:

Job for serposcope.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status serposcope.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details

Output from systemctl:

serposcope.service - LSB: serposcope rank checker
Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/serposcope; bad; vendor preset: enabled)
   Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Mon 2017-04-10 21:38:07 UTC; 4min 59s ago
     Docs: man:systemd-sysv-generator(8)

Output from journalctl:

Apr 10 21:38:07 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: serposcope.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'

Any help guys how can I make this working on my VPS?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Error initiating serposcope on Ubuntu VPS - systemctl

i never tryed the deb version. i got it perfectly running by using jar file.

Using SSH:
java -jar ./path-to-jar-file/serposcope.jar

see documentation if you want use custom configuration as example:

(java -jar -Dserposcope.conf=/root/serposcope/serposcope.conf serposcope2.7.1.cn1.0.jar &) ¦
