idea for keyword check on shared webhosts using cron

Hello

I've touched serposcope and it's a great piece of software.
But to fully automate kewyord position check it needs either a reliable proxy list (not a public, anonymous crap) or at least vps server with full php control.
As there's no way not to get a time ban on a shared webhosting account, would you consider adding a flag or time check in a cron loop ?
It could work like this:
1. we set the amount of time (let it be 3-5 days) after which serposcope should start checking serps again
2. every time cronjob starts (let's say cron pokes the serposcope every 15-30 mins) sscope takes one keyword (last checked+1), checks its stats, and flags it as checked until time interval set in point no1. passes away.

It's as easy as it sounds, and needs only couple additional variables to check what has already been done.
This way checking several dozen keywords shouldn't be a problem on a shared hosting.

Is it possible to add such function into serposcope ?

best regards

Re: idea for keyword check on shared webhosts using cron

I understand what you want to do. I don't plan to implement such a feature. However, you can do partial cron checking, by specifying an argument in cron.php, by example http://localhost/cron.php?idGroup=1 (or id=1, check cron.php source) will only check keywords for group 1. So what you can do is create X groups and check a group a day by creating X different cron task.

Clever! This should do the thing.
Wouldn't have guessed that smile
